Pregnant while breastfeeding?

Question

So my doctor told me that my hormones wouldn't be back to normal if I'm breastfeeding, which I am. And he said it'll probably take some time before I get pregnant again.  I'm almost 3 months postpartum.

Does anyone here got pregnant right after giving birth?

My husband and I wanna know how soon can we try to bd again.

I was still breastfeeding my daughter when I got pregnant this time. I got pregnant the first month we tried. I also got pregnant the first month I tried with my third pregnancy, but that ended in miscarriage. I know lots of women who are able to trust breastfeeding as their "birth control" I'm not one of them.

Breast feeding is not birth control. It may make it slightly harder to end up pregnant but it will not keep you from getting pregnant. That's not how the body works.

Get on birth control or invest in a box of condoms

Breastfeeding is NOT a reliable form of birth control.  Just go ask any woman with Irish twins,  they will tell you.

After giving birth you are supposed to be at your most fertile state, don't trust the fact that because you're breastfeeding you won't get pregnant. Use protection if you aren't wanting another baby so soon. 
My mum fell pregnant with me three months after having my sister, and she breastfed exclusively.

I got pregnant with my daughter when my son was 7 weeks and I breastfed him 24/7 for a year. So yes it's very possible and I'm sorry but your doctor should be smacked for telling you its unlikely because you have more of a chance of getting prego right after delivery.

Breastfeeding is not foolproof birth control - if you don't want to get pregnant again right away then you should use another method of birth control.  I know several people who had back to back babies because they believed breastfeeding meant they couldn't get pregnant.

You can still get pregnant while breast feeding. After I had my second I was pregnant with my third 3months later. Good luck!

My aunt  got pregnant right after she gave birth to her son. Even though the doctor said not to have sex for 6wks. But unfortunately they did not wait and she ended up pregnant 3wks after she had her son which he's 2 years old .. ND her daughter  is 1year old...  and she just gave birth to another  little girl which she is 4 months going to be 5 months this month.

It's really safer for mommy and baby if you spread them out about 2 year's your body has to have time to recover
