What's a c section like? 
When they decided you needed one, how long till you were in surgery?
How long does it take?
How long was recovery?
Can you hold your baby right away?
How long until you CAN hold your baby?
Are you always awake for it?
How big are the insinsions now a days? 
I literally have no idea about anything about a c section!!

Both of my c-sections were planned at 39 weeks because my babies were breech and no signs of turning, even after attempts of manual inversion.
I got to hold my baby after getting out of surgery, but skin-to-skin immediately is up to the doctor doing your procedure and if they have the staff available to make it happen.
Recovery depends on your health, honestly. My first one, I was not in great shape and I was in the hospital for several days, in bed at home for several more and because of the narcotics they put me on, breast feeding failed.
My second one I was in better shape and healthy, more educated about my options, and did not take any narcotics, only IB Profun for pain and breast feeding went great.
It varies depending on hospital, patient, baby, and other unknowns. It's better in some ways, harder in others.

I was in labor for 15 hours pushed for 3 had an emergency c section he wasn't coming out. I had to be put under the epidural wasn't working and they to get him out. Total surgery was probably 20 min for me as soon as they woke me up I was asking for my baby and husband. They took me to recovery brought my son in bout ten min later I was able to hold him with the help of my husband or nurse and tried to nurse him my milk took a few days to come in so I had to supplement. Recovery wasn't bad either yes I was sore but when I took the pain meds I felt I could do anything which was bad cuz when they wore off I would be very sore so be careful with those you want to feel the pain so you know your limits. My scar is small and healing very well. Everyone is different tho and reacts and heals differently. Good luck I hope all goes well for and baby!!!!

Okay. Tbh not much to say for me because I was completely numbed by the spinal. Yes you're always awake unless they absolutely have to put you under. It took them about an hr after they decided I needed an emergency c section.   You can't hold baby til the spinal wears off which takes about half an hour. I don't remember the actual surgery time because I was really gone lol. They let daddy hold baby tho and show the baby to you before taking them to the nursery.

I will saw this is a normal emergency c section and baby didn't need the nicu so it could be different for others.

Honestly the worst part is the recovery. Make sure you're constantly taking the pain medication they give you when you're home. Don't think you can handle the pain. I was in labor for 29hrs before they decided to do a c-section because labor wasn't progressing. I was awake the whole time and I got to hold my baby once they cleaned her up. They had to take her immediately because she pooped while she was still inside me. The actual process lasted about 30min. The only thing  I didn't like was that after closing me up they had to reopen me because they dropped a sponge in me and didn't realize it until after the procedure.

I don't know the answer to all of your questions, but I know a couple. In most situations you're awake, they just do a spinal block or epidural. In an emergency situation though, they may have to put you to sleep. As far as holding your baby right after, you can hold baby while they stitch you up, it just depends on the situation.

I've Had 3 C Sections & Most Were The Same

I Had Surgery 45 Mins Max They Stiched Me Up & Too Me To Recovery UNTILL My Anesthesia Wore Off And I Could Move My Legs By Myself , I Was On High Pain Meds And I Couldn't Hold My Baby UNTILL About 30 Mins After When I Was Fully Aware Of Everything . THEY took Me To My Toom Afterwards & Then Brought My Baby In I Was Then Able To Keep Her In There With Me Unless She Was Getting Blood Drawn . I Had GD & Blood Suger Was Low So They Had No Choice But To Feed The Bottle But It Wasn't Hard To Breast Feed . I Stayed 4 Days In The Hospital Then Went Home . It Wasn't Hard I Was Walking Around The Same Day I Had My Surgery . Only Part That Really Hurt Was Pooping Oh My I Bleeeed So Bad . After The First Poop I Was Okay . Healed Fine .
