Does breastfed delay period?

It should have started a week ago but no sign of aunt flow. I'm feeding Baby on demand. Does that affect things? I believe my cycle came back after delivery but it's all so blurry. I definitely was bleeding but I don't know when the postpartum stopped and when an actual period began. I started the mini pill around 8 wks postpartum and it made me bleed every other week so I stopped taking it. Now, no bleeding or sign of a period. I took a test a couple days ago and it was negative.

Yes, some women don't get a period until they completely stop breastfeeding, which can be one or two years or even more. But it doesn't mean you can't get pregnant, you can still ovulate without a period.

I had what I think was my first pp period at around 6 weeks pp and then again 2 months later but haven't had one since, my baby is 5 months

It can for some people but not always. I got my first period at 7 weeks pp but other can go months without one so it really depends on your body

Yes because it delays ovulation. Some people use breastfeeding as a "contraceptive" but that's not recommended.
