Did I lose my virginity?

Question

From the title, you're probably thinking I'm some uneducated teenager lol. Long story short, I was raped at 13 years old by someone who was 16. Fast forward to now, I'm 18 and the only man I've had consensual sex with is my boyfriend of two years. Is it wrong of me to consider the first time I had sex with him as when I REALLY lost my virginity? Or should I consider the rape as the day I lost my virginity. In my mind rape doesn't equal sex, sex has to be consensual. I know virginity is basically just a social construct, but in my mind its important in a lot of ways. What are your thoughts? Does rape equal sex? Did I lose my virginity at 13 to my rapist?

Only consented sex counts for sure! I too believe that virginity is a social construct and I believe that it is a gift that you give someone who you trust with your first time. If it's stolen it doesn't count.

Probably gonna get a lot of hate for this, but in reality, yes you did lose your virginity and I'm so sorry that happened to you. But there's nothing wrong with saying that your current boyfriend took your virginity, so if you want to go with that then it's 100% okay

If it's important to you, I think it's fine to consider your virginity lost to your boyfriend! :) I'm sure some people will disagree, but I don't.

It all depends on the person. I was similar to you I was raped at 13 by an 18 year old, however I personally count that as when I lost my virginity (in part because I also got pregnant from that and unfortunately miscarried, so I think that has something to do with it)
Virginity is an outdated system anyway and most people lose theirs without realizing say horse riding or falling and landing funny. 
Most important thing is to carry on with life and enjoy it to the full <3
