Breastfeeding and drinking on special occasion?

I was always under the impression that you can't drink while breastfeeding but I looked it up online and it said that you can time your drink so that it clears from your breast milk before feeding baby. I was just curious because the holidays are coming up and I would like to be educated 🙃 what do you ladies do and what have you heard?

I've had one drink while breastfeeding. My lactation consultant said if I'm sober enough to drive I'm sober enough to breastfeed.

As long as you can drive (like one drink) you're safe. Not enough of it goes to your BM to effect anything. This came from a lactation consultant so I trust this info more then just getting info from everyone else.

I amount of alcohol that crosses the blood/breast barrier is negligible. You'll be fine.

I usually feed baby first then pump just in case so I have a little extra and then have a drink and by the time baby wants to feed again you will be good to go
