Leaning towards naming my baby boy Beau. How do you feel about this name? You don't have to like it enough to want use it for yourself but is it alright? Initial thoughts on the name in the comments?

I just automatically think of that as a dogs name. I don't know a single person with that name but I know two dogs.

I knew a kid named Beau and he was such a nice kid!!!! So, I guess I have a positive association with it.

I love it. Before I was born my dad had a son with another woman (not my mom) and they named him Beau. Unfortunately he inhaled some meconium during birth and passed due to aspiration 🙁 I've always thought about using Beau as a middle name! My brother's name was Beau Dalton.

I didn't like any of the options for voting, so here is my two cents: do I think it's a great name? No, but do I think it's a decent name, yes.
I don't see at all how it is a hick name, southern yes, but not hick. 
With all of that said, I am also of the same mind that no one can tell you what to name your child and any opinions are moot. 
Honestly if someone tells me the name I've chosen for MY child is x,y or z, I'd tell them to fuck off. It's an opinion, you don't have to take it as anything other than that.

I worked in year 1 for half a year and there was a little boy called Beau :) 
I also know that there is a little girl called Beau in my brothers class. It's not common at all, but it is around. 
Go for it, I doubt there will be anyone else with the same name :)
