12 hours of labor just for it to stop!!!

So frustrated!!! Started having very strong and consistent contractions at 1AM(36+3). We went to the hospital at 3AM, I had dilated to three, I was excited: "hey let's have a friggin baby!!" They performed a cervix check two hours later: no progression. Still 3cm, 50% effaced. Fast forward to 12:30 in the afternoon and I'm being released because I'm still stuck at 3 and 50 but that WHOLE time was dealing with incredibly intense contractions that would not quit. The contractions stopped around 2:00pm but are starting to rise again. I seriously don't even know what to do. Ugh.
