the implant/when does it start working?

I don't trust google atal so I just wanna ask you girls, when does the implant/bar start working?i got it 2 days ago but a friend of mine said wait 2 or 3 weeks till I have sex just to be sure,does anyone know when it gets effective?

I was told 2 weeks when I got it the first time, we waited 4 months (1st time) and when I got it renewed we waited 7 days

It's usually suggested to wait at least 7 days or a month before having unprotected sex when starting a new BC, depending on who you ask. I'd suggest calling your doctor if you're unsure.
