is this normal?!

Question

I took a pregnancy test last week and it came up positive. Tonight I was having stomach pains so I went to the ER and had a transvaginal ultrasound and they saw a sac but no fetus yet. Is it too early? It measured 5 1/2 weeks and my HCG is at 15,000. Just went through a miscarriage two months ago so I'm praying this isn't the case.

It's completely normal! Baby at that point is only the size of a poppy seed so very, very difficult to see anything inside the sac on an ultrasound.

With my first ultrasound the sac measured 6 weeks, but we couldn't see anything inside. When we went back a week later there was a baby in there with a perfect little heartbeat.

I also had cramps, and even some spotting/light bleeding, between 5 and 7 weeks. I'm now 14 weeks and my baby is doing fine, I can hear his heartbeat on my doppler every day 🙂 just hang in there and try to relax. If you're experiencing pain and/or bleeding the best thing for you to do is lay down and rest as much as possible. Good luck!!

I went to er when I first found out I was pregnant and they did the same thing. They could only see the sac. I measured at 5 weeks. The nurse told me it is to early to see anything but the sac. So don't worry too much :) I'm sure everything is fine.
