Is planning to have a child at the age of 18-19 okay?

Just to be clear, I'm going to talk about planning to have a kid when you're young, I know that lots of people end up getting pregnant young and keeping the baby and that's fine, but I'm interpreting it as if you're not pregnant yet.
So I'd say wait until you're a little older, and financially/emotionally/romantically stable. There are so many things to do and discover when you don't have kids yet that you simply can't do when you have a kid. (And if you do, it's a lot harder and you might not end up being a good parent) When you have a kid, they are COMPLETELY dependant on you, and you basically have no life outside of them for years and years. And sure you can do that stuff AFTER you have a kid, but you'll be older and maybe think, how would my life have turned out if I had done this first? (I'm mostly thinking of like college and traveling here)
You also have to think financially, do you have enough money to take care of yourself and another human who won't contribute at all? Do you have a stable and steady income? You can also look up stats on how much it costs annually to have a child, and see if that's something you can afford.
So if you're okay with putting your whole life on hold, and you're financially/emotionally/romantically stable and you are SURE you want this, then I'd say go for it! But please be sure to consider how drastically this will change your life 😘👶

I wouldn't. At 18, you are barely an adult. You haven't developed who you ARE as an adult. You need time to experience life as an adult. Planning a kid at 18 is skipping some great parts of life!

I agree with these ladies! I got pregnant at 19 and had my son at 20. I honestly wish I would've had him later in life whenever I had my life together and could have a better future for him, it's a struggle when you don't. Right now, I'm trying to build a future for us and having a child while doing so is hard! But I love my son to death.

I mean it's okay but being only 18 and 19 years old you haven't even really lived your life yet. If you feel you're finacially stable and in a stable relationship then by all means have some kids(: I would do so serious thinking before I started popping out youngins...that's just me though.

It's your life, live it how you want but remember, life is short, maybe you want to become more of an adult and be spontaneous before settling down with kids!

I got pregnant with my son at 19, had him at 20 and my husband and I had been married for almost a year. I couldn't be happier ☺️

Also, keep in mind that you may need to change your plans after highschool. Having a baby can affect college, work and social life. Make sure you're ready.

To me there's a huge difference from planning to and actually trying. Either or is perfectly fine. I'm planning in my head exactly when I want to have a baby. And I'm 18. One of my best friends just had her baby and she's 18. You just need to be financially stable and make sure that your at a place in your life that you can handle having a baby.
