doctor can't find cervix?

Question

So I am 37 weeks and 3 days and went in for my third weekly cervix check and the doctor could not find my cervix this time!! Last time I was 80% effaced and 0.5 cm dilated and it had moved to the front. This time it was completely MIA! She dug around in there for what felt like forever and then used the Pap smear tools and a flashlight and looked and nothing! She said it could be so thin it is laying completely flat but my bag is still intact. Has this happened to anyone?!?

When i was first checked around 36/37 weeks they had to feel around a bit to make sure it was my cervix because it was so thin(although not dilated at that time)

My Dr couldn't find mine and then realized he was touching the baby's head, not my cervix. He said I would prolly feel him\her move around a lot BC he thumped the baby on the head pretty hard trying to find my cervix
