breakthrough bleeding all month?

I've been on the pill since February and take it perfectly. I've only had spotting that first month. A few months ago I skipped my period with the pill and had no issues, but then skipped it last month and have had light, breakthrough bleeding every day all month. My period is supposed to start today but at this point I can't tell because the pill has made my period so light. Is this normal?
