Anyone else dread bedtime?

My son is 11 weeks old and I absolutly hate bedtime!! He has been sleeping in his own room in his crib for about a week now. Everynight we start getting ready for bed around 8. Bath (everyother night), bottle, and a story. Well it usually will take anywhere from 1-2.5 hours to get him to go down. He just screams and screams. I have to go in there about 7 times to calm him down and give him back his pacifier. My doctor told us to let him cry some so he can learn to soothe himself. I just feel like such a bad mom that I can calm my son down to go to sleep. Usually once he is alseep he will sleep a good 8-9 hours straight. Its just getting so trying doing this every night.

Maybe he is crying becoz he wants to be close to his mummy? His nest egg. I don't agree with babies in own rooms that my opinion..... he is crying for a reason maybe cuddle him in bed with you.... co sleep ? You have the rest of your life to sleep away from your baby. 11 weeks and you want him away already just seems sad to me 😿

My LO was the same way she sleeps 7-8 hours if she co sleeps but on her own only 3-4 hours. I feel safer knowing she's in the room/bed with me, as a FTM I constantly worry about SIDS even tho she sleeps 7-8 hours at a time in constantly waking up checking if she's breathing but as long as she's sleeping well and growing that's all that matters to me.
Maybe you should try the crib in a few weeks or every other night. Baby wants to bond with mama 💕

This is almost my story exactly. She will sleep 8 hours but the 1.5 hours it takes to make that happen has made me hate the nights.

I used to get very angcious for bed time. I dreaded the fussiness and difficulty getting him to sleep. It has become so much easier. I think his age has a lot to do with it. The older he gets the better he gets. However I also think following a bedtime routine now is helping a ton. He goes down much earlier and easier. Now there are still some nights this doesn't happen but most are good. I no longer dress it.

We hang out/feed whatever w our girl until she's starting to look  sleepy, then get the swaddle, lights off and sound machine on,   then hold her and bounce and sway w a paci in sometimes until she's fallen asleep in our arms, then I take the paci out, this sort of wakes her up so I continue to sway and she dozes off again, then we lay her down. She wakes up a bit from being laid down, but we turn away and walk out the door, shutting her door very quietly. We can hear her coo a bit on the monitor but then she's out.

Is he overtired? Maybe push bedtime forward a bit. From 3ish till bedtime (7 to 7:30) is our hard time shes overtired n cranky  (she wont nap during the day muvh shes a catnapper) i dnt believe in lettimg them cry it out. Ill let me daughter winge n sook but if its an emotional cry ill go in tap her bum few times n walk away i found this mich better then just leaving her. Dnt worry wat the docter says do wat feels natural to u. For me i found hoing in every so often n patting her bum helped now she is easier to get down n will go down on her own (unless shes overtired) she also takes the pacifier. Is ur lo wind completely up? My lo will scream due to colic if we put her down n there is trapped wind it will actually wake her. Have u tried puttibg some item of ur clothing near his cot so he can smell u also white noise to helps i do all these things

We get our baby ready for bed around six. He's usually asleep by seven or eight. Dad and I get a couple hours together and then go to bed. The crib is in our bedroom, we never have used a pacifier. I hate the pacifier ideology. If my baby needs to suck on something then I know he's still hungry. Babies don't "self soothe" ... Not until at least four months, their internal clocks are not like a child's. If you really want them to "put themselves to sleep," good luck, you'll just have to let them cry it out. Which in my opinion, is an awful thing to do at such a young age, it's like the story of babies who don't cry because they know noone is coming. My baby has been sleeping through the night since about 7 weeks old. He sleeps eight to ten hours, wakes up once to feed, then goes back to sleep for another three to four hours. We always have mittens on him, to prevent him from sucking on his thumb, I'd rather he suck on his whole hand or mitten. I don't dread nighttime but I'd rather my son wake up more at night so I wouldn't have to get up to pump...

My 12 week old was having nights where he just wakes up cuz he startled himself and it take me forever to get him back to sleep... very tired mama :( but last night he slept 5 hours straight, fed then went back to sleep for another 3!
