Did you use Evening Primrose Oil to help thin your cervix?

Question

If you have used it, what method did you use (orally, vaginally, or both)? How many capsules did you take or use a day? Did it work for you?

I am currently taking it. 
34w with 500mg orally
35w w/ 1000mg orally
36w w/ 1500mg orally
Will take 2000mg from 37w - 41w orally
I haven't had my cervix checked or anything yet so no clue if its helping.
I take it with protien because oils are hard for your liver to process so protien helps produce certain enzymes that help the liver absorb your oil based vitamins/minerals.
I also have read couple of articles saying it doesn't seem to matter if you take it orally or vaginally it works the same.

My midwife said 2 pills 3x a day and then 6 pills vaginally at bedtime.

I took them both orally and vaginally with my son and I was in labor for 12 hrs and overdue, I didn't with my daughter and it was a 6hr labor six days early. So I don't really think they do much..
