Is a rocking chair a necessity in baby's nursery?

Ohh yeah ! 
That's a life saver, I can't count how many nights I've sleep in the chair because that was the only way my baby would give me some brake, specially if you breast feed. 
Totally worth it.

I wouldn't say it's a necessity but I definitely would say, if you are breastfeeding, make sure you have somewhere other than your bed to be feeding on a regular basis! It'll help you sleep(aka save bed for sleep, you'll have enough insomnia once baby is here without encouraging it😂) and it'll definitely save your back to have somewhere specific to sit up(and kick back) and breastfeed!

Its not necessary but it makes breastfeeding so much easier rather than sittinf bent over baby half you night. This way you can sit back more comfy put your feet up and feel like your resting

Sort of. Baby likes movement, much like when in your tummy and it's hard to rock back and forth on a still chair
