tips on trying to conceive

Will someone, anyone, please give me some tips or hints to try and get pregnant? My fiancé and I have been TTC for 5 months and nothing. :( it's so devastating testing and only seeing one line come up :(. My periods aren't regular either so I really never know when I'm ovulating! Ughhhh why must the female body be so difficult!
