When did it become abnormal to breastfeed?

My little girl is just over a week old and is doing amazing at breastfeeding. It was a rough couple of days but we got through it. My husband keeps asking me to pump and give him bottles. My mother in law asks me when will I start using bottles. It's insane guys ! Ive pumped from necessity with my oldest and it was pretty tiring especially with a newborn. Im totally fine if you choose to pump or formula feed but I just feel people ( my mil) dont understand how many benefit baby gets from breastfeeding. Just venting here...
