birth control

Have a question ladies!! So I got the depo shot on September 28th, I'm scheduled to get another shot in December or January but I will be out of town for the holidays , like I'll be gone until after New Years. I can only use my insurance in my state , and I don't want to have to pay out of pocket for birth control in the state I'll be in , and I don't want to have to wait til I come back home to get it cause I'm pretty sure I will be having unprotected sex while I'm on vacation (with my bf of course) so my question is have any of you got a new birth control while you were on the shot before your 3 months was up? I want to get the implant I want to get it before I leave so around November 12th , is it safe to get a new birth control when the depo shot hasn't worn off yet? Can someone please answer my questions I don't want to get pregnant so sooon lol
