Different views.

I'm a Christian and very spiritual. I've always thought it's best to date guys with the same views if your intention is to have a serious relationship in the future. I've dated a couple guys who are Christian and have treated me badly. This new guy I met is very sweet and caring and he's an Atheist. I respect his views and he respects mine, but I feel like this will be a problem in the future if we do end up working out. We have been talking for about a month and our first date is this Saturday. Should I not date him because of the risk of having a big conflict in the future or should I date him anyways?
