On day 41 of my cycle

Sooo, this is the first time I have ever posted on one of these, but I am 35 and ttc. I am on day 41 of my cycle and normally always have 31 day cycles. I took one test at day 37 and it was negative. Today I bought another test but am scared to test again because I dont want disappointment. I have started to cramp and am having brown discharge so it feels like maybe my period is coming? Has anyone else experienced this? Should I test again? Thank you!! :)
