Could I go into labor??

My doctor checked me today, I'm 38 weeks! He said I'm a "snug 3cm dilated and about 70% effaced" and then he swept my membranes. This is my second pregnancy but I've never had my membranes swept. So I'm curious, for those of you who had your membranes swept, how soon after did you ladies go into labor??

Had it work 4 times within 48 hrs. If your body is ready, which I would assume so at 3cm. Good luck!!

I can't remember  if it hurt. I remember I was bleeding  and she had to stop it and it mad me dizzy, but I think it was a fluke because I've never heard of it happening to other people besides a little spotting. But it didn't do anything for me. He had to be induced at 41 weeks. I heard if it works it will happen within 72 hours.

I had my membranes swept at 39 weeks with my son(3years ago) and delivered within 24 hours. But, everyone is different! Just depends if your body is ready.

Also did it hurt when he swept your membranes? I'm getting mine done in a couple days when I'm 39 weeks. I'm a little nervous because I hear it can hurt but I am already dilated and soft so I'm hoping it won't hurt too bad.

Could I go into labor??
