Got a job, now Mr is acting weird.

I got a job a few weeks ago to help out with bills and pay on my astronomical student loans (not to mention the fact of wanting to get out of the house for some human interaction). When I first got the job, my boyfriend was happy and super supportive of my decision. But this week I've been scheduled to work the night shift, which has someone less than thrilled. I understand that he wants to spend time with me (as I do with him) but our schedules aren't lining up at the moment. How can I help him to understand that I've got to do what I've got to do and keep him from feeling neglected?
