Do you have to wash baby clothes before putting them on? Not talking about hand me downs but about new clothes bought from the store??

You don't have too but you should. You don't know who's handled them and alot are treated with chemicals to prevent them smelling.

I do. Not just because of the chemicals but I always think the material is just too rough so I wash them in baby safe detergent and use a little fabric softener just so the clothes are extra comfy

You don't have to but it's probably a good idea. Never know who touched them or how many times that outfit ended up on the floor before you bought it

I do. I worked retail and saw how clothes are treated in stores. Thrown on the ground, touched by people at least 20 times a day... I would wash them. :)
