Mandatory birth control?

I saw a recent poll on here about mandatory adoption.

I was wondering if anyone thinks that parents of kids under 18 should have the right to put their child on birth control, such as depo or the implant, when a child doesn't want to be on it or is trying to get pregnant despite being a minor.

What do you think? Should parents be able to make their children get birth control?

No,  I enjoy my rights to bodily autonomy, and don't want to see them infringed.

No. You can't force anyone to put anything in their body, or shouldn't be able to. Just because they aren't legal adults yet doesn't mean they can't have a say in what type of hormones or devices is inserted in them for no *true* health reason

Again how to get your child to hate you, make decisions like this for them. I have my reasons for not wanting birth control and if my parents disregarded that because they want me on it I'd be rather angry.

And if your child is actively trying to conceive maybe talk to them about it instead of saying no you have to take birth control... no you have to get the implant...

I think every family should make the best decisions for their child together. 
There are too many variables to make something like that mandatory. 
I'm trying to say it nicely but people really just need to Mind their own business!!!

No. My friend was recently put in hospital after having a bad reaction to the pill and getting meningitis.

In my household, it was the opposite. When I was 17, I pulled my mom aside and told her I was ready to take my relationship to the next level. I had been with my boyfriend for almost 3 years at that point so for us, we were ready. I expressed my concerns and my wanting to go to the doctors to discuss birth control and she was LIVID. Like you'd think a parent of a responsible teenager would be proud they they wanted to take those precautions but nope! Haha I ended up going and getting it anyways because there was no way I was going to be a teen mom. She was pissed for about a year before she finally got over it. And because she was so mad at me for it, my sister who is two years younger than me, didn't ask at all and started having unprotected sex. Thank god nothing came of it though. I told my mom when I found out and got her on birth control haha I think those lines of communication need to be open at all times.

I guess people don't get that they do not own their children. Yes they are taking care of them and everything like that but you should not be able to force something on your child that they do not want. What should happen is the parents having a nice long talk about the  benefits of the birth control other than actually controlling becoming pregnant. Idk, that's just my opinion.

Absolutely not. It should be her choice to use birth control and no one elses. I made the choice at 18 to use birth control and it messed up my hormones. I became so sick when I was on it I got off of it right away. I'm glad I was able to make the decision and not my parents.
