Do the new American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines change your sleeping arrangement plans?

The AAP now recommends babies sleep in the same room as Mom for at least six months and preferably the first year. Separate bed, firm surface, no blankets, on their back, etc. (no changes there). Still - same room for ideally a year? Who is planning on that? I know hardcore co-sleepers, but very few people who are eager to have the crib in the master bedroom that long. Thoughts?
