Animal cruelty or not?

So I've had this opinion since I was a little girl, I could get way into it but that would be much too much to read. I however would love to hear all your opinions on it! My question to you guys is do you believe seaworld/circuses/zoos/ and any other "for fun" environments for animals should be shut down? and are they cruel? I personally do and always will, nothing can change my mind on that. Keep in mind this is excluding nature preserves, rehabilitation centers and other places like those. An example of a place I DO agree with is the black jaguar white tiger foundation 😊 One I strongly disagree with is seaworld. However I am glad they're trying to change their orca program.

Some zoos provide shelter for non domestic animals who can't be released into the wild. Example: Big cats bought by idiots who want to look cool, then realize they can't afford to feed it and/or that it's dangerous. 👀 On the upside some zoos can provide the best life available to those creatures, instead of the previous owner, say, selling the animal to "black market" traders or letting it go in the local environment.

However, training animals to entertain visitors opens up a door to cruelty. People will come to rely on their entertainment and expect the animal to preform, possibly under inappropriate conditions.

I think all establishments that put animals on display for entertainment should be shut down. You want to see the animals, preserve and protect their natural habitat and visit it in cages vehicles.  However, I do support rehabilitation centers. The sad truth is there are so many rehabilitation centers that don't get public funding because they spend all of the money on the animals and not advertising.

I think if they are helping the animals sure but kepping them in tiny enclosures purely for humans enjoyment is so wrong. I do not support these places. I went to the zoo like a year ago..and I will never forget the polar bear under a tiny rock, huddling in this little spot of shade...it was probably 100 degrees out that day. Animals deserve their NATURAL habitat.

There is one aquarium that I will defend, Monterey Bay Aquarium. They are nationally renowned for their conservation efforts. They've rehabilitated sea otters so they can return to the ocean. They have tons of information on what kinds of fish are most environmentally friendly to eat.

I do support some zoos and aquariums, but definitely not circuses and sea world. I don't like places that "train" animals for entertainment purposes only, to the detriment of the animal. I'm also against places that breed animals just to profit off of them. I only feel like that's acceptable if they're endangered.

I feel like zoos and aquariums are good, because they both do a lot to help the animals, and they're meant to help educate the population. Zoos and aquariums are great as long as they're properly taking care of their animals. I do think that there are some cases where animals would be better off in sanctuaries. The zoo in my area was having a lot of issues with their elephants. Several died in a relatively short period of time (for unrelated reasons as far as I know, it wasn't really the zoo's fault), and the public felt like the enclosure was much too small and they weren't being socialized enough, so they were moved to a different zoo. There's apparently been a lot of issues at that one too. There are certain animals that need a lot of space, among other things, that I don't think zoos can really provide unless they make it a top priority, and in a lot of cases that's just not possible.

I only support zoos that have habitats, not cages. There is a difference. Never circuses with animals. No animal circus is cruelty free

I went to the San Diego zoo and sea world in the same week and honestly my heart hurt at sea world because of how small all of the enclosures were and how a majority of the animals there looked distressed. At the zoo however their enclosures were huge compared to sea world and the animals looked comfortable, had places to hide, and were just being themselves. I feel like big zoos like that are actually a good thing for most of the animals there.

There's one zoo that I adore. The Pittsburg zoo. From my memory of it the animals were very well taken care of and had wonderful spaces to thrive in. It was such a good learned experience as well! The exhibits had these little boxes that you stuck this animal key in and it would tell you about the animals. It was very hands on for kids and an overall great learning experience.

So the black jaguar white tiger is a foundation for the rescue of  animals  which had been in zoos, circus or animals who was victims of the traffic. So it's impossible that these animals can be in their habitat. The human has been cruel with the another animals from the first times,  they have locked and killed also eating them. I just can defend the rehabilitation centers which receive animals that have suffered so much for your makeup for the shampoo, or the shower gel... For all the products that are tested on their skin.  All animals are victims of the human race and their whims. Yes that it's cruelty and who think otherwise is a fucking hypocrite which does not that happens in the world.

To be honest, I'm torn.

The planet is in disarray and there are animals going extinct almost daily; there are certain zoos that are fighting to provide decent care and to increase the population count of species in need - but there is always the question of "is it right? Is it enough?"

I loved SeaWorld for a time, but Blackfish opened my eyes. Blackfish is a biased, wholly propaganda-fueled film, but what it did for me was provoke my mind to delve deeper into the needs and complex processes of an orca. Upon reading up about their complex languages, relationships and needs as a species, I now feel any confinement is cruel. The same goes for dolphins and a few other species.

I think anyone profiting from tricks performed by trained animals should be shut down. Circuses, SeaWorld, so on. Animals should not be forced to be our entertainment.

I LOVE and fully support refuges and sanctuaries.
