Husband strictly for the fact that a well maintained and loving relationship will help build an amazing base for the rest of the family. Not to mention the example you are setting for your children to follow. That being said, a love for a child is completely different then that for your spouse. Love both and put your heart into both but in different ways. At the end of the day when your child moves and has their own life it's going to be just you and your Spouse again. Maintain both relationships. There should be no reason why both aren't a number one priority.

God comes first. My husband comes second. My kids will come third. That is the order in which we are called to live. And on a practical and secular note, after your kids are grown and have moved out, who is still there? Your husband! If your kids only live with you for 18 years of their life and you're married for 60, that's a LOT of time to be spending with just your spouse. Nurture and feed that relationship with your spouse! Putting your spouse ahead of your kids also demonstrates what a healthy marriage should look like. Children are not meant to be worshipped-- it makes them out to be spoiled, entitled and not self-sufficient. Give them the stability and guidelines that they need to be successful, while still giving them the love and nurturing that they need!

I hate when people say they put their husband before everyone in their life because if your bum ass husband leaves you, who's gonna be there? Your KIDS. You are all your kids have. I live for my daughter and everyone in my life knows that. I have literally done a no call no show because my baby needed to be at the hospital at a minutes notice. I left my husband for a month bc he got upset that I said my daughter comes first. At the end of the day, they didn't ask to be here, you chose to create them therefore your life should be dedicated to making them happy. Your baby can't leave you, everyone else can.

My kid 100% every time. You choose to love your husband, but you are biologically programmed to love your child. My son comes first. We put him on this earth so it is our responsibility to make sure he is taken care of before us. I would expect my SO to put our son before me if it comes down to it. If we're dangling off the edge of a cliff he better save him and let me go. I just don't see how there's any other answer? You can have a strong relationship with your husband and still put your kids first. Your kids don't drive you apart, they bring you closer together.

Can any one answer me what it means to put either or first. There are some situations where I'll drop my kids off and spend the evening with my husband. There are nights where my husband has to fix his own meals because I'm tending to the kids. Our lives are made up of a tug of war for time. Sometimes my husband needs me, sometimes my children need me. Neither comes first or last. I did not marry my husband thinking we would seperate. So all the ladies throwing that as an argument, I feel sorry for you. Your children could easily grow up and hate you.. I've seen it before. So that is not an argument. To any ladies who describe their marriage as just a piece of paper, I feel sorry for you. Really, I do. My marriage means everything to me. When my children move on to bigger ans better things I know my husband will still be here. They will be gone starting a new life and you will be that crazy mother in law that everyone is bitching about on this app.

My husband will come first. This does not mean my kids are neglected, or will go without or anything along those lines but my relationship with my husband is important for both myself and our kids. At the end of the day, if I had to save one or the other, I'd save my husband. He has been there with me from day one! My opinion is not stemming from the bible this is purely what I believe.
