Finally! Long story of my baby being born!
I was scheduled to be induced at 41 weeks which would be today (Wednesday). Well baby girl decided she wanted to wake mommy up at 3 am with some contractions. I went to the Dr at one instead of going to the hospital where they might've sent me home. I was 80-90% effaced but only one cm dilated. He had me come back at 4:15 to check me again since the contractions were about 5-6 apart. Well still at a one but he was guessing I wouldn't make it through the night so he had me go in at 8:30 pm to get checked. Well I was still a one 😡 but decided to admit me and I wasn't leaving without a baby! I had a dose of cytotec to help my cervix along and of course it didn't work so I got a second dose. Which still didn't work. Contractions were getting worse so I asked for some stadol and oh my what fun I had. Well that's what the people who I face timed said when I told them I was in Willy wonka land and my nurse was in a purple tube bringing me Mac and cheese. 😂 finally that stopped working so I asked for an epidural at 4 and it didn't work. Half of my body was good but other half hurt like hell! So they redid it and boy was that amazing! Right after that dr showed up and broke my water and started pitocin. I had no idea I was contracting every 1-2 minutes the whole time after that. Didn't even notice tightening. Dr told them not to touch me to reduce the risk of infection but finally at 11:45ish the nurse came in and told me she was going to check me. She had this look on her face and I said if you're going to tell me I'm still a one I'm going to scream. And she goes no.... you're complete and radioed for a coworker to bring a birthing table to the room! She called the Dr and he said he close to the hospital. Well close to him was like 25 minutes but the nurse was having me push till he got there. They kept saying she was getting close but I thought she was lying because I just KNEW I would end up in a c-section. Doc showed up and ten minutes later I delivered my daughter! It was a crazy emotional day. She was 40w6d but she ended up in the nicu because she was struggling to transition but has a good prognosis and we hope to get her in our room later today! I just KNEW I would go to section and after I pushed her out all the nurses were amazed also since they also thought I would end up in the OR. So happy I didn't though! Oh! And she was born on our second wedding anniversary! What a day for her to choose to come!
