Currently in early labor

I'm 40 weeks + 2 days. 

At my last two appointments I've been "maybe 1 centimeter" dilated. I woke up this morning around 3:15 with what I knew had to be contractions and I've had them relatively consistently since.  They are currently lasting about 55 seconds long and occurring every 5 minutes and 50ish seconds. The past hour and a half has primarily been back labor 😕 I'm thinking if they keep at this pace, I'll call my doctor in about an hour to see if she wants me to come in to be checked. Any advice?  I don't want to just go straight to the hospital and be turned away.
