Do I have to do a C-Section?

Question

I went in on monday for my ultrasound presention at 37 weeks. Baby was breech. So my doctors first words are were gonna do a C-Section. The baby is 7 pounds, fluid levels are fine, placenta looks good, everything is a okay! 
So he scheduled me for November 9th.

My question to you ladies, do i have to go through with this C-Section?  I strongly feel like he gave me no other choice didn't ask how I felt, this is my 3rd pregnancy, other 2 delivered vaginally. Should I wait till I'm 40 weeks which would be nov 14 and if baby is still breech schedule a C-Section?

Please help!

We have OBs here that will deliver breech babies vaginally.

Have you tried seeing a chiropractor for Webster Technique?

Also try spinning babies.

Nope. Plenty of babies are born vaginally while breech. There are also a ton of techniques you can try to spin baby. YouTube is a great resource. Surgery is convenient for the dr and insurance pays out more.

My Baby is breech still at 39 weeks after a failed ECV attempt at 36wks. I'm going in for a Cesarean tomorrow. I think you should research yourself the options and decide what you wanna do. If you then decide to try a vaginal birth then you would have to look for a different obstetrician that offers that. I decided not to after researching due to the risks involved with a vaginal breech birth to the baby. Also apparently it's traumatic for the baby to come out that way... They come out bruised on the presenting part (which in your case is a bruised bottom and genitalia) , and can get thier heads stuck which would end up in an emergency cesarean anyway. I was too scared to try a vaginal birth as this is my first and I've never birthed before. But if you do research it and decide that you feel like that's what you want to do then you should definitely not be pushed into anything. Just make sure that's really what you want.. don't be convinced that vaginal is always best

I would be against it. Plus it's not like you're 40 weeks yet you still have time. I will refuse a CSection unless I absolutely have to. I would rather have a 6 week recovery vs 12 week recovery. It's your body you should have a choice.

Doctors don't like to try breech births but it's totally possible! I wouldn't have a csection unless my baby was at risk but that's just me. Google the loss art of breech birth. Very interesting stuff.

I've seen pictures and videos of a breach birth done vaginally and it honestly looks so horrible. It looks so painful for both baby and mom. I wouldn't do it. I totally understand waiting until closer to 40 weeks, I think that's a good idea. But I wouldn't attempt a vaginal birth that way. 
Like when women are suggested to get c-sections due to small pelvic cavities and want a vaginal anyway, so they have to end up breaking the baby's clavicle to get her/him out. That's selfish in my book. For the sake of you and your baby, I would wait till closer ro 40 weeks but ultimately if you had to, do the c-section.

Nooooo! Ask them about doing a version or ecv. It's where the dr manually turns the baby. My baby is breech and I'm getting baby manually turned at 38weeks to avoid a csection. It's sad your dr didn't even mention it to you. I would try anything to avoid a csection! Call your dr office and ask them about ecv.  Google/YouTube it also

I'm currently in the same position. I'm just shy of 37 weeks and my little guy is still breech. We've been trying everything to get him to flip, chiropractics, spinning babies website, hot and cold techniques. Next week I'm going to see an acupuncturist and if that doesn't work we're trying an ecv Wednesday. Luckily my provider offers breech vaginal delivery as long as baby falls within the guidelines and is very experienced. My husband and I are currently weighing our choices. For years and years my obgyn and the midwife she works with delivered breech babies without any problems. But they did experience one loss. That's what makes it scary. We're still doing research and heavily weighing everything out. That's all you can do. Good luck though in getting your little one to flip!

I wouldnt attempt the vaginal but thats just me. My moms doctor refused do anything other than vaginal and made my mom deliver that way which resulted in my sister almost dying and my mom being hospitalized for 2 weeks afterwards.

Unless your baby goes head down between  now and the ninth it's not likely you will be able to delivery vaginally.
