positive group b strep test?

Question

Anyone else test positive for group b? I'm freaking out. They say it's 1/4 women and nothing you can do and pennicillian will make it okay. I googled which scared the daylights out of me saying risks are meningitis and still birth. Thoughts?

I tested positive and my dr said it's completely fine but I'll need antibiotics when I go into labor.

Yea my doc said it's normal but that o have to be on antibiotics during labor.

As long as your doctors know it's fine. Once you walk into labor and delivery. Tell them right away so they can start pumping anti biotics in you. Other than that it's nothing to worry about and cannot prevent it. It's not an sti or d.

I tested positive my last pregnancy. They give you antibiotics via IV and you have to labor in bed. It wasn't too big of a deal for me.

Tested positive as well which is a first for me in 3 pregnancies but they just pump antibiotics in you plus I'm at lower risk as I have c-section

I tested positive as well although they said the level came back so low that my lab result wasn't even flagged as abnormal. It's rare that the baby would get sick even if you didn't get antibiotics but for the few babies that do get sick it's usually very serious. They found that giving moms that test positive antibiotics during labor decreases the severity of the infection in the baby for those that get it. So I'm still getting the antibiotics just in case.
