Strange random stress test

I got to my 36 week check up today and they hooked me all up for a stress test, but they didn't know why either?? Super strange. Everything was fine though. They also checked my cervix, it's still high, to the side but softening up. Mid wife said almost 1cm?? She said things could progress quickly though considering they did with my first (He came at 38 weeks) so I just gotta deal with how uncomfortable I am right now?
