epidural

I have to be induced next Saturday the 5th due to cholestasis and I'm terrified this my first baby and I told my husband I want to get an epidural and he is totally against it, his reasoning is that it will harm the baby I have spoken with medical professionals all who have said it's totally safe for baby and he's trying to make me feel bad for wanting one...what do I do? I want to hear both sides!
