Sevyn Streeter and the National Anthem

Kaleigh

Don't know if you all heard, but Sevyn Streeter (an r&b singer) was scheduled to sing the National Anthem for the first NBA game of the season at the arena where the Philadelphia 76ers play. Before performing, the 76ers organization told her she could not perform....why? Because she was wearing a shirt that said "We Matter".....Not even "Black Lives Matter"....simply "We matter".

This really bothers me. I see no problem with her shirt, she was simply trying to portray a message. It's even more bothersome considering all of the black athletes that play for the NBA.

What are you thoughts or opinions of the situation?

She also deserves an apology. I wonder if NBA players who support BLM would dare to speak out about this....
