has anyone ever has this?

Last week I was fixing my hair and I felt something on or near my jawbone next to my left ear lobe. It's a hard lump & it's about the size of my index finger tip when I feel it. I don't know how long it's been there but I'm on the fence about seeing a doctor because I feel like I go to the doctor way to much. But I googled it (and probably shouldn't have) and many people who had it said it could either be a swollen lymph node or a tumor of the parotid gland. Has anyone on here ever had anything like this & if so what did the doctor say it was?
