There's no reason not to listen to the no's, because all doctors and hospital policies are different. Here, doctors will only do an elective induction if you've already progressed on your own a bit. It's a huge liability for them to induce a woman who hasn't progressed a bit, it hugely increases your chance of a c section. Just ask, the worst they can do is say no.

Don't listen to all these no's. Many many many doctors do at 39 weeks. My sisters did, and mine is. We even have different doctors.

Yes but it depends. Most won't do it unless there's a medical reason. Some of them are comfortable with it as long as your baby looks fully developed and such, but usually they want you to go at least a week over before they talk induction if nothing is medically wrong
