Changing jewelry in healing belly button piercing?

Question

I got my belly button pierced less than three months and I had to change the jewelry yesterday due to an MRI. Should I leave in the acrylic jewelry until the piercing continues to fully heal or should I change the jewelry again to my starting jewelry? I have not previously had any issues with acrylic jewelry.

You should not have acrylic left in a piercing for extended periods of time. Its porous and can cause infections that way. Go see a piercer and they will help you change it if you need help!

Although changing it to your starting jewelry is a good idea, I think you should leave it in cause you risk infection by changing it since it's recently pierced.

Everyone is saying change it again but I had a tonsillectomy literally two weeks after I got mine pierced so I changed it to an acrylic for the surgery, against doctors recommendations (they tell you to take all jewelry out), and I didn't change it back afterwards and it healed perfectly fine!!
