Medicaid questions
So I have a couple questions regarding pregnancy Medicaid. I have insurance through my father (who has to carry on me until I am 26) but the insurance does not cover pregnancy related care since I am a dependent. I am applying for pregnancy Medicaid for myself and the baby and when the baby is born he/she will go on my soon to be husbands insurance. My fiance and I are planning to get married in September of 2017. When I talked to Medicaid this morning, they informed me that I would need proof of income (which I have) birth certificate, social security card, ID, something that has proof of address, and a couple other things. My problem is that my father never signed my birth certificate when I was born, which left my name as Lacy my whole life up until I was 16. When I turned 16 my dad was made to put me on his insurance because he has just started working, but for him to do so he had to sign my birth certificate for legal reasons. Well in the process of that, he changed my last name as well. Now my last name is different on my birth certificate than it is on my social security card, along with everything else. My ID, my work information, my school information, basically everything I have ever put my name on. I know this is probably not a common thing but obviously with my fiance and I getting married soon, I do not want to go through with changing everything just to change it back when I take his last name. I do not want this to mess my chance up of getting pregnancy Medicaid because I actually need it. I know there may be people on here who think I am using the government, but that is NOT the case what so ever. I have worked my ass off since I've been 15 and everything I have is mine, no government assistance whatsoever. It just so happens that my insurance doesn't cover my pregnancy, which was unplanned, and I need this coverage more than ever. Anybody have any suggestions, inputs? No negative comments please. I'm pregnant and moody. Just want some helpful insights.
