How to prepare for NATURAL LABOR???

How do you prepare yourself for natural labor.
I'm staying positive , want a natural birth. So my mind everything is natural birth , and want to continue that way...

Childbirth classes - go to a Bradley method class.

When it comes down to it - just remember that if you do get pain medicine/epidural you're no less of a woman!

I've been a labor nurse for 10+ years and I've seen women who are 10 centimeters dilated and handle contractions like they're nothing and I've seen women who scream when they're 1 centimeter dilated.

Every woman is different and every contraction is different.

Goal= healthy mom and baby.

I went to a lamase (sp?)  class.  But it was loosely lamase.  It focused on evidence based information.  And was weeelllll worth the money and time.  I feel totally prepared now and I definitely did not feel prepared before.

One thing I'm also doing is working on staying as fit as possible. I want my pelvic floor muscles in as good condition as possible and I want as much endurance as possible. I'm working with a pregnancy personal trainer and doing weight lifting for both strength and endurance, plus classes for cardio and stretching.

A friend who's also very active and had two kids without meds at home likened childbirth to a marathon and said her sports training helped a lot

I took a childbirth class and it prepared me as much as it could. I honestly went into the delivery room knowing that I wanted a natural birth. The doctors/ midwives all knew this is what I wanted and no one mentioned an epidural ( or something similar). I would say that if you want a natural delivery, take it a contraction at a time. Stay focused and calm. If you want some help with the pain, don't take it as a failure.
