sympathy kicks?

So my mum is really excited and involved in my pregnancy it's her first grandchild and the first boy born on her side for over 30 years! She recently told me she's been feeling sympathy kicks low where I've been feeling them, mostly when we're together but she said she feels like there's a baby kicking! I think it's a load of rubbish but she's convinced she's been having symptoms! Anyone else had any experience of loved ones having symptoms?
