My TTC shopping list and the price of prenatal vitamins!

I was taking Pregnacare Pre-natal Vitamins and I couldn't help but notice something strange... I was looking incredibly tired and run down whilst taking them. My hair and my complexion looked lank/dull. At first I wasn't sure if I simply was run down but suspecting the vitamins were the root of me looking like death, I stopped taking them and within days I started to look healthy again. I've put it down to this particular brand Pregnacare and I'm sure I had similar whilst taking the Pregnacare Max whilst pregnant with my angel baby.

I'm pretty sure these vitamins should have been doing the opposite! Did anyone else have similar with Pregnacare or any other brand of prenatal vitamins?

Also in your experience what do you think are the best? I always hear about Pregnacare being the best but perhaps they're not for me. I've heard good things about Seven Seas, I might give them a go this time.

Oh and... Why the hell are these things so damn expensive??!! 😂 I went shopping to put together my TTC starter kit - thermometer, ovulation tests, pregnancy tests, scales, vitamins, decaf tea, etc... It was quite a long list if I'm honest lol... But I couldn't believe the cost of it all!

In the end I had to leave out a few crucial items... I figured I didn't need the tests, the thermometer or the scales because I needed to replace my toilet seat, another surprisingly expensive but completely necessary item! 😂🚽

I'm nowhere near ovulation and I've heard the temperature tracking can be useless when taking certain medication which I am and they definitely up the heat on my internal radiator. Plus I can weigh myself at my local chemist whilst collecting said heatwave inducing meds.

Any tips to get my head around all of this? Did you buy anything in particular?? Do you all really weigh yourself every single day to complete your diary/health log??! Perhaps I do need scales after all! Haha!
