Do I count the after birth bleeding as a period?

No, but sometimes you can have a period right after your postpartum bleeding, anything within 6 weeks is postpartum. Wait until that stops completely it might get patchy and sporadic towards the end. Sometimes it's short and sometimes it's the whole 6 weeks it just depends on your healing process. Then once your completely sure it's gone start tracking your period the next time you bleed.

Nope. Periods are weird after having a baby. Your period may come back right away or it make take forever. And it took over a year for my period to go back to normal after having my daughter.
