Baby felt from outside at 16w?

This is my first baby and I felt strong kicks beginning a week ago, and yesterday they felt so strong that when I pressed on my belly where my uterus is I felt them with my fingers. Today when I began feeling movement again I had my husband try to feel it and he felt it also. Is this normal? I never received a dating ultrasound scan so I'm not sure if maybe the baby is older than we think. I weigh 115lbs I'm not showing yet, but I can feel my uterus. Has anyone experienced this before? Can I be misinterpreting the feelings? I haven't felt something like this before and I'm sure it's not gas
