Swollen veins inside of labia?? (No pic)

I'm 23w4d. About a week ago, I noticed a big swollen vein inside my labia on one side, & now it's happening on the other side too. I feel like that area's been somewhat engorged with blood for a while now, and I've had a sensation of pressure when I'm on my feet for a long time, but that pressure sensation has gotten way more pronounced since these lumpy veins have shown up.

Has anyone experienced this, & if so, do you know whether it's normal? (Sorry for the TMI question! FTM. I have an appointment to see my OB for my 24w appt on Thurs, so I will certainly be asking her then.)

They are called Vulvar Varacosities and about 10% of pregnant women get them. (People just don't rally talk about it because it's kind of embarrassing). It is normal, not harmful and will not affect your ability to deliver vaginally (some women are nervous about that). I had them with my 2nd pregnancy and have them again with this 3rd one. I'm sorry you are dealing with them as well. From my experience they only get worse and become more painful. HOWEVER! There is something you can do about it. Go on Amazon.com and look up the V2 Supporter. It basically looks like a female jockstrap, is not at all sexy and a little uncomfortable BUT it makes a HUGE difference. Compression helps varacose veins and this is basically compression for your lady parts. I didn't get one with my last pregnancy and just toughed it out but I was miserable. Got one this time around when the veins came back at 12 weeks and it is a night and day difference. It takes away that pressure and pain and allows me to be on my feet, go for long walks, etc. I told my husband I'm burning it after this baby comes because it really is quite unattractive but it is also a life saver.

I've read a lot of posts on this topic here and the consensus seems to be that it's normal due to the extra blood flow down there. I wouldn't worry too much but still go ahead and get it checked to give you peace of mind.
