Steak temperature when pregnant?

Question

My managers are taking me and a coworker out to Ruth Chris tomorrow night for a little celebration dinner.  I would typically order my steak Medium Rare, but I'm seeing conflicting opinions online.  Is it okay to order Medium Rare when pregnant?  This is such a fantastic meal I don't want to order the steak well done 😕

I was told medium well is ok but not medium rare by my doctor

I still eat mine medium rare... Not suppose to but doctor says it SHOULD be okay though she recommends medium or up.

It's medium rare as long as the steak has not been tenderized. Ground beef is still fully cooked. If air hits the insides of the beef, then you want it to be cooked all the way.

I had a medium rare once (I work at Longhorn) & it made my stomach hurt soooo badd! Is there any other dish on the menu you might enjoy? I agree a well done steak is such a waste, I'd say hold off until baby is born!

My OB said well done only, which is a crying shame if you ask me. Others have said medium well is safe because it's the outside of the beef you need to cook and it has to reach a certain temp. I'd double check with your OB.

I have been ordering my steak medium well no pink and I haven't had a problem. :)
