Doctor lied about being in town! wtf!??

I'm hearing some women say that it's the nurses that make the birthing experience great or terrible- but I'm was assured my doctor would be in town during the holidays and now he's not and I'm PISSSED. Then again I could just be being hormonal. I'm almost 33 weeks and due the 27th of December. My doc told me a month ago ( at 5am while I was in the hospital with early contractions) that he'd be going on vacation a few days after my due date, so it be best if she was on time or early. I recall the convo clearly and thought ( oh well I doubt she'll be late but that sucks ) 
But today, a month later he said he'd actually be leaving the 26th! He's like "I told you that before." "I'm like NO you SOB you didn't."  I wanted to cry and kick him in the balls. I don't even like the guy that much to be honest, but I'm used to him- it's been 7 months! I just hate feel lied to and out of control. Then he went on and on about how a lot of women like to be induced these days if they're uncomfortable before their due date or because of timing and I may want that. That's FUCKING WRONG!!! Ok maybe not thaaaat wrong but I don't think an induction out of convenience is healthy. To top it off the docs that are taking over for him also have scathing reviews. 
I have a PPO plan- should I just find someone totally new!? I just don't think there's time...

It doesn't matter honestly. It's whoever the OB on call is that basically "catches" your baby. The nurse is the one at your bedside throughout labor. The nurse is actually the person I remember the most through both my labors. I couldn't tell you the name of the doctors I even had for both my births. They don't even call the doctor until baby's head is right there almost crowning. I agree with you though, I can't believe he suggested you induce out of convenience. I have said it before, I would seriously question a doctor's motives if that was the case. It's safest for mom and baby Togo into labor naturally than induced unless there is a medical necessity.

In 2009 my doctor tried talking me into inducing at 38ish weeks, because he was going out of town. Well I declined and she came naturally at 42 weeks, thank god I said no, because she definitely wouldn't have been ready! 
With both deliveries so far, I haven't had my normal doctors, just the ones on-call at the hospital. I literally seen them both for the end, just in time to push.

Chances are you won't wind up with your regular Ob anyway. I know it's annoying.....enjoy your vacay while im pushing this child out that I've been paying you for for the last 7 months! Glad I could fund that trip for you! 🖕🏼🖕🏼...... But really, depending on the time or day, you would probably end up with the on call doctor or whoever is there

This is why I choose a family doctor to deliver my baby. She comes in to deliver, where as ob is whoever is on call. I'm sorry you have to endure this 😔
