should I go to the hospital?

I am 37 weeks and at my last appointment my doctor told me I needed to start keeping track on the babies movement and  if I don't feel him move atleast 10 times in 2 hours to go straight to the hospital without calling them. I don't usually actually time it or pay close attention but I've noticed I haven't felt him move hardly at all today. So before I over reacted I decided to lay down and drink some cold water to try to get him to move and about 10 minutes later I felt him have hiccups for a few minutes but that's all. Nothing since then.. should I go to the hospital??

I'm not sure if you can do this at all hospitals, but there are non stress tests that you can have at theL&D ward that monitor the baby. I did this a couple times around 38 weeks because baby's movements slowed down drastically. The idea is they will monitor the movements without using any interventions (cold glass of water, poking your belly, etc.) to get an idea for how baby is doing. If they decide there is something going on, your already at the hospital if they need to take next steps. 
Your so close to the end that I would go in, give yourself peace of mind.

Phone them up. I had reduced movements yesterday and never went in since I had my midwife appt today. He's back to normal today however my widwife wasn't too happy, she said to always give them a call as they do  
a risk assesment on the phone and that it is important to at least call them if you go with no movements from mornin till evening! I got a massive talk from her today and next time will defo at least call! Get it check just to be safe!

Try drinking apple juice, the sugar will help wake the baby. Drink that and lay on your side in a quiet room, if you don't feel anything after that...go in! If you're in doubt always just go in!

My Dr said you should feel at least 10 movements but only a couple times a day, not every hour or even every 2. They go through hours of sleeping especially if you're busy. Try putting something chilly on your belly like frozen peas and lay propped up like on the Dr's table. If baby wakes up after a few mins and you start to feel movements  then it's ok.

I wouldn't count hiccups as movement. I read that somewhere as well. Did you count any other movements other than hiccups while lying on your side?

Baby might be engaged, which means less movement. 
I downloaded an app that counts kicks, laid on my left side and started up. It's counts kicks and measures time. 
But, if you honestly feel like something is wrong, just go in
