Anyone with a successful breech vaginal birth?

Question

I'm only 20 weeks but baby boy is breech, so I know it's a possibility that he'll stay this way. I do not wish to have a c section and want to birth vaginally. Anyone have a success story? I've watched youtube videos but want to hear real experiences from ladies.

Don't do it!  Not worth the risk.  Doctors don't do this for a reason, not because they are not skilled to do it, but because there are too many risks involved.  I work in the healthcare field and I had a patient come in with babies' legs literally hanging out of her after she attempted to deliver the baby with a midwife and a doula at home.  Baby was born with a weak pulse and unfortunate ended up dying shortly after.  Not worth it!!

My baby has turned 3 times since 37 weeks. I know it's good to be educated and informed but I wouldn't be worrying about a breach birth this early

My friend had a breech birth at home.. what a warrior. Your body was made for this.

Also you are not far along, it's common for baby to be breech at this point. My baby was breech at 32 weeks and when we checked again around 36/37 weeks he was head down and in position ready to go!

The baby still has about 15 weeks to turn, to answer your question most doctors will not even attempt to deliver vaginally if a baby is breech because of the complications involved. At this stage in your pregnancy your baby can be breech today and head down tomorrow(this happened to me while in the hospital at 25 weeks). The doctor can also attempt to flip baby if it's late in the third trimester and baby still hasn't flipped despite your efforts of getting it to him/her to flip yourself.

I don't personally have a success story, but I have watched many successful breech birth videos, midwives have been getting breech babies out and healthy for thousands of years, if you were to end up with a breech baby when you went into labor (as everyone has said, you're super early still), you absolutely could deliver vaginally and safely, you do need to find someone skilled in the practice, though. If a doctor or midwife seems hesitant to try it, they are not skilled in the technique! Keep interviewing, they are out there.

My mom had 2 but doesn't recommend it. She had to have corrective surgery later on to fix the mess down there. Also one of them had a successful ECV and then flipped back just before delivery so he came out with the cord around his neck but thank god the doctors were quick and managed it.

My grandmother delivered a breech baby with no medication. But that was obviously a long time ago. The issue is that most doctors and midwives now are not skilled in breech delivery so that's why they section. Maybe you have to find a doctor or midwife who has specific experience in this. ❤️
