is this weird

So today I'm getting an IUD inserted. I am 20, the first time I got one my mom came with me. She came in the room with me and it was the most painful thing of my life. I wouldn't move from my bed for 2 days and I couldn't sleep. Today, I'm getting another one because the first one started coming out. My boyfriend will be coming in the room with me. We have been dating for 4 years, it's not weird for us but do you think people usually do this? I don't want my gyn to be like wtf why is she bringing her boyfriend. Lol..
