I've had my cartilage pierced for almost a whole year now, but for the majority of the year I've had this swollen bump on it. Sometimes it hurts, other times it doesn't.

Back in March I was put on medication for a sinus infection, and I noticed that the bump had actually almost completely gone away while I was taking it. But a few weeks after I was off of my medication the bump came back, slightly more swollen than before. I have had this before on one of my other ear piercings twice, and all I had to do was take the earring out for about a month or so, and not sleep with them in often.

My issue with this piercing is that I'm not sure if it is completely healed yet due to the bump. I'm afraid that if I take it out for a long period of time the piercing will close. Has anyone else had this issue? How did you get rid of it?
